The school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 3.15pm.
Registration is from 8.45am to 8.55am and we encourage all children to be in their classrooms for 8.45am.
Children have a morning break from 10.40 – 10.50.
Children in Reception, Y1 and Y2 begin their lunch break at 11.50am
Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 children begin their break at 12.20pm. Children have 55 minutes for lunchtime.
Assemblies are a very special time when we meet together to share God’s word and pray together. Currently, we have a Mission Assembly on a Monday, we have class and phase assemblies during the week and then we end the week with a Congratulations Assembly on a Friday afternoon.
In a typical morning, children start with Guided Reading or R.E. then will be taught Literacy and Numeracy. Typically in the afternoon, children do their Science, P.E. and Topic lessons as well as additional RE.
At the beginning and end of the school day, parents are encouraged to leave their children at the playground gate but can take their children onto the playground if they wish. We hope to build up a close relationship between home and school – we want to have good links with all parents. If normal arrangements have to be altered (eg you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know as soon as possible. This avoids any confusion or upset.
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: it’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users, and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. Alternatively, we have bike-racks and lend bicycle locks out for a small deposit. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely and respect the residents of St. Elizabeth’s Road.
